2008 Is Merely Dying & 2009 Is Merely Shining

As I'm writing this thread, Iras World hasn't found a regular fan base yet since it opened on November 1st 2008. However I've decided to start few traditions around here : This Week's Verse and few other stuffs too but you'll see them on your own if you hang out here long enough....
So I'll start another one while wishing y'all a happy new year 2009, and that is my most memorable moments of the dying year.
If you've read the page Who's Iras then you know that I've made peace with death since I have a genetic illness (Sickle Cell) that shortens my life expectancy which is also because I have other complications added to that (lucky me !!).
A lot of people out there who are close to death (or at least knows that theirs will get their sooner than the rest of their surrounding) decides to live their life fully by doing stuff they never get the chance to do or telling people what they never had the heart to say or see the things that weren't seeable until they're eyes were open.
I'm not like that, I'm more the guy who thinks about a legacy and what he's going to leave the world if he dies tomorrow. I don't treat myself very good and that is kind of stupid or "suicidal" for a guy in my situation however when it comes to my passions I'm a workaholic. If you've been given a gift I think that it doesn't belongs to you, it belongs to the world ergo you have to do all the things in your power to give that gift to our beloved world. If people with gifts were selfish with it we would still be living in cave as we speak and eating bacterias off each others backs merely like monkeys.
None of us will be on this earth forever so some of us think about what they'll give to this world and how they will be remembered after their deaths. I am one of those guys and I've already made peace with the fact that, this means I'm never going to have a social life if I want it to happen and I'm okay with that.
Anyhow, a lot of things have been happening this year. It's been a disastrous year for some people and a great one for others nevertheless for me a lot of things made it memorable :
- Most Memorable Political News : Barack Obama Wining The U.S Presidential Election
- Most Memorable Financial News : The Global Financial Crisis
- Most Memorable TV Shows : Pushing Daisies
- Most Memorable Comic Book : The Release Of The Rest Of Buffy's 8th Season
- Most Memorable Motion Picture : Seven Pounds
- Most Memorable Video Game : Grand Theft Auto IV
- Most Memorable Music Album : Lil' Wayne - Tha Carter III
- Most Memorable Science Discovery : Creation Of Artificial Cell-Like Particles Which Is Vital In The Fight Against Cancer
- Most Memorable Gizmo : Google Android G1
- Most Memorable Moment Of My Life : The Creation Of "Iras World"
I ain't going to make any happy new year resolutions because I simply don't believe in them. If people wants to change something in their lives they'll merely do it. Waiting for a day in order to symbolically vow to make few changes is not an idea that makes sense and seems very appealing to me.
But instead of a resolution I'll be making a whish,
Which is to be alive
To be able to thrive
In the new year's shine.
Thence ladies & gentlemen 2008 Is Merely Dying & 2009 Is Merely Shining ergo Happy New Year 2009.
