I think I always had this need for an artistic independence. I had this desire of crafting my art on my own terms ever since I knew I wanted to take this path.But in order for me to develop my art I needed people to help me achieve that goal. Even if I'm an indie musician who has the ability to subtract myself from the business side of it all, there is one guy who allowed me to take my craft to the next level : Mawuena Seketeli.
Thanks to him I've been able to create my own label (juridically for now) on June 25th 2008 and that is even before being "somebody" which grants me the possibility to do whatever the hell I want, art wise anyway.
The name Samael is the name God gave Satan before he was cast out from paradise. So to me this name means the purity of the evil soul inside all of us. I know we are all capable of greatness but we're also capable of the worst. Because I believe in redemption I wanted to give that "redemption" to y'all with this name. Maybe the power of the spell produced by the songs under this label will help you reach your full potential.
I'm trying to develop an alternative to our music business which wouldn't require to sell CD's for the artists to do their arts. Ergo this entire operation will be financed through advertisement. The business model is simple since it's merely a translation of the business model of the television concept which (until the rise of the digital era) allows the audience to consume everything for free in exchange for some advertisement.
It's all in the embryonic stage because I'm tied up with other things as well. Anyway a market research is on the way which will come to complete an already rock solid business plan even though I'm not sure it will work. Nevertheless I believe it's worth the try because I believe that the gift of crafting art should belong to the world acknowledging it.
